"I am so grateful to have met with Lauren.  For years I have been feeling unwell, doctoring with multiple gastro-intestinal issues, unexplained weight gain, and daily exhaustion as a result of poor sleep.  Bouts of anxiety, depression, and extreme stress due were affecting my daily life and my business.  Western medicine was unable to tell me any root cause of my issues without invoking the word “inflammation” or “normal”, and provided no guidance for a resolution.
     Lauren helped me to get on a path of identifying some of the root causes – poor eating habits, lots of sugary and salty foods, lack of water, poor digestion, “leaky gut”, and potential allergens or triggers for the “inflammation”.  She guided me to a path of healthy eating, daily stress relief, and quality sleep.  Breathing exercises and meditation to calm myself and exercise, when the day became too stressful, and the motivation to walk away when I recognized the anxiety and stress.

"In January, I was stuck in a post-holiday slump. I was exhausted and getting sick all the time, yet all of my blood tests were showing I was the picture of perfect health!  For years, I had been inconsistent with exercise and diets, getting frustrated that I couldn’t find the “magic formula” to turn me into a supermodel. ;) Add in the stress of life with two young kids and a full time job and I had become my own last priority.

"It’s difficult to express how badly I felt prior to working with Lauren. After a traumatic brain injury several years ago- exasperated by stress, sugar addiction and lack of exercise- I faced digestive trouble, anemia and weight gain.  Foggy thinking and low energy put me in a tailspin that Western medicine could not fix with a prescription. I was losing hope of getting well.  Thankfully, I met someone who suggested I contact Lauren for coaching and to investigate a functional medicine approach to healing. 

 

The six month program was challenging but life-changing. Lauren’s sage advice and encouragement helped me radically change my lifestyle to reclaim my body’s ability to heal itself.  She guided and encouraged me as I relearned how to choose and prepare healthy food and adopt a positive mindset. Lauren helped me regularly set achievable goals that helped me get to this point.  Hurray! I’m now free from sugar cravings, acid blockers, and blood pressure medication.  As a bonus, I also shed all my extra weight (40 pounds!).

"Before working with Lauren, I was experiencing horrible low back pain as well as left wrist/hand pain with occasional shoulder/upper back pain. The pain was so severe at times I couldn’t even open a toothpaste tube or get out of my car without back spasms that would stop me in my tracks. There were weeks I could not care for my young child and I’m a stay at home mom. On top of the pain I was experiencing I had a nasty looking rash on the palms of my hands and bottoms of my feet, which I was told was eczema. If my pain increased the rash worsened. 

Shortly after my first visit with Lauren my rheumatologist diagnosed me with psoriatic arthritis. She gave me a few options for medication but they were immune suppressing drugs, one was used to treat leukemia in infants. The rheumatologist said she’d prescribed one and to pick it up if I decided to take it, I never picked it up. Instead I followed the recommendations from Lauren and began seeing significant improvements in my rashes and decreased pain. I was finally beginning to properly care for my child again! 

Now, after completing the health coaching program, I am free from chronic back pain and eczema! My rheumatologist is very happy with my efforts. I have a much more positive outlook on life, increased energy, and a smaller pant size!"
